Flavor That Sings

In the early ‘70s, French cheese master Jean-Noel Bongrain had a brilliant idea: bring his passion for specialty cheeses to the U.S. He set his sights on the rolling hills of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he could craft cheese with the best French traditions with flavors fit for American taste buds.

In 1974, alouette Spreadable Cheese was born – a creamy, velvety dream that instantly became a crowd favorite. With its fresh, irresistible flavors that sing, it was love at first spread. They chose the name “alouette,” which translates into “lark,” a songbird. Word quickly got around (thanks to our little birdie!) and before long, alouette was flying off shelves and into homes across the country.
